From a 15-minute check-in to a night in your home
Pets are always happiest in their own space, where everything is familiar. Our in-home care keeps them in their normal routine, without the stress and noise of a traditional kennel.
- Dog Walking
We plan our walks around your dog's specific energy level and favorite pace: a fast run, or a sniff at every tree.
- In-Home Pet Sitting
Feedings, playtime and plenty of attention for dogs, cats and small animals, in their own home. Visits of 15, 30 or 45 minutes.
- Overnight Care
A 12-hour stay that covers evening and morning feedings, walks, and company through the night.
- Puppies and Seniors
Potty breaks and good habits for puppies; a slower pace and a bit more patience for older pets.
- Medication and Pet Taxi
Medications given to your vet's instructions, rides to vet appointments, and the litter box and yard kept clean.
- Trail Hikes and Swims
For dogs with energy to burn, trips to local trails and swimming spots, because a walk around the block isn't always enough.

Rick and Cate, door to door
Take Me Out Pets was started by people who genuinely love animals and the Rhode Island community. Rick spent 38 years with the postal service and has a Coast Guard background, and he has volunteered at the Warwick Animal Shelter since the 1990s. Cate is a retired massage therapist and a dedicated advocate for cat rescues.
We are fully bonded, insured, and trained in pet CPR, so you know your pets are in safe, capable hands while you're at work or traveling. We manage multi-pet households, give medications, and even provide rides to vet appointments. Puppies get help with house training and gentle, positive reinforcement; senior pets get extra patience.
Birds, fish, reptiles and small mammals are welcome too. Read what clients say on the kind words page.
The fine print, plainly
What kind of pet care do you offer?
- We handle just about everything your pet might need. This includes daily dog walking, in-home pet sitting, puppy drop-ins, and overnight stays. We also help with the extras, like giving medication, driving them to vet appointments, or taking them out for a nature hike or a swim.
Can you keep to my pet's routine and give medication?
- Yes. We know pets do best when their routine stays the same, so we follow your specific instructions for feeding and exercise to the letter. We are also experienced in giving medications and can help reinforce any training you're currently working on during our visits.
Will I get updates during visits?
- We'll send you photos and updates during our visits so you can see for yourself that your pet is happy and well-cared for.
What is your cancellation policy?
- We ask for at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a fee.
