Why does a kennel unsettle a pet?
A kennel puts a pet in a strange place with a broken routine and a lot of noise. Most pets are happiest in their own space, following their own rules, and Rick and Cate Salk built Take Me Out Pets around that idea in Conimicut.
So they come to you. Your pet keeps their favorite spots, their usual habits and the feeding times they know, and gets the one-on-one attention a busy boarding facility can't give. Visits cover Warwick, Conimicut, West Warwick, Cranston and East Greenwich.
What happens in a 15, 30 or 45 minute visit?
Each visit covers feedings, playtime and plenty of attention. A quick 15-minute check-in is $20, a 30-minute visit is $30, and 45 minutes is $35 for pets who want extra playtime. There's a 20-minute visit at $25 too.
Dogs, cats and small animals are all welcome, and so are birds, fish, reptiles and small mammals. Rick handles the dogs. Cate, a retired massage therapist and long-time cat rescue volunteer, leads the cat care. Nina E. wrote that Cate coaxed out her shy scaredy girl and was able to pet her.
Before the first visit, Rick comes by for a meet and greet, so he knows your home, your pet and your instructions. Call (401) 527-0035 to set it up.
Photos and texts while you're away
Nina E. left for a 4 night trip with 2 cats, and wrote that Rick and Cate sent "pictures and texts daily." That's the standard here: photos and updates from every visit, so you can see for yourself that your pet is happy and comfortable.
We follow your instructions for feeding and exercise to the letter, give medication when your vet's instructions call for it, and keep the litter box and the yard clean while you're gone.
Rick and Cate are fully bonded and insured, and trained in pet CPR and first aid. A second pet adds $5, and we ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel. If the trip needs someone there through the night, ask about overnight care, a 12-hour stay at $65.
